Kingdom Flight Una Esperanza Ministry Team Information

WHAT IS A KINGDOM FLIGHT MINISTRY TEAM?

A team is a group of people that have come together in unity and purpose, giving of service, and demonstrating the Love of Christ in a cross cultural environment that includes both physical and spiritual labor.  Teams may be comprised of only a few people such as a family or two accompanying us to Una Esperanza, or a team may be a much larger church youth or adult group.

When you arrive at the Una Esperanza ministry center you will be in the hands of capable team directors.  These team directors will have the work projects prepared, community outreach events organized, and the housing arrangements ready for your group’s arrival.

Your group will be involved with a building project at the Una Esperanza ministry center that will help meet the needs of the children of Una Esperanza.  In addition to taking part in construction projects, there will be the opportunity for your group to participate in special activities with the children of Una Esperanza and the people living within the local Tarahumara and surrounding communities.

WHAT WILL I GAIN FROM BEING PART OF A TEAM?

BEING A PART OF A TEAM MEANS THAT YOU WILL:

  • Learn how to work together both physically and spiritually with others in a challenging situation.

  • Provide support for the Una Esperanza children's shelter, ministry center, and local community.

  • Gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be a follower in Christ by serving others.

AS AN INDIVIDUAL YOU WILL:

  • Develop a deeper faith and concern for others.

  • Experience missions in a foreign country.

  • Build relationships across language and cultural barriers.

  • Develop a more thankful heart for the blessings God has given you.

  • Gain a new perspective as you experience a world without borders.

WHAT WILL OUR KINGDOM FLIGHT TEAM DO IN MEXICO?

Each Kingdom Flight mission trip is specifically designed to be an awesome life-changing experience.  You will have plenty of time to interact with the children of Una Esperanza and with the people of the local community.  You will have the opportunity to interact with them in one or more of the following ways.

CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS A team may be assigned a construction project.  It will be a project at the Una Esperanza ministry center itself, for a local church, or for a member of the local community.

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES:  Our main purpose in Mexico is to demonstrate the Love of Christ by our actions and this will open doors to share our faith.  This is accomplished through a variety of ministry opportunities.  Every ministry opportunity is uniquely based on your group’s focus during the week.

HEALTH FAIR MINISTRY:  This ministry project will use a Health Fair to draw people to a place where the gospel will be shared and health needs will be met.  The team participants will assist with the Health Fair for the people in the community.  A Health Fair will consist of stations that will offer health services, (i.e. taking blood pressure), health education (i.e. importance of washing hands) or games that are health related.  Health Fair stations are set up to teach both physical and spiritual health through a variety of games, demonstrations, or printed material.

CHILDREN'S OUTREACH MINISTRY:  Groups participate by interacting with the children of the community.  Groups participate in teaching Bible stories and will assist in making crafts and playing games.

FILM MINISTRY:  Groups are given the opportunity to participate in the showing of Christian films at Una Esperanza for the surrounding communities.  The goal is to build relationships and to reach people with the gospel.

SPORTS MINISTRY:  This ministry is designed to attract teenage young people through sports activities and includes basketball, baseball, volleyball, and soccer.  This gives volunteer team members a way to interact with the local teens and establish friendships.
